Why Sponsor

For over ten years now, our golf tournament has been an eagerly anticipated community event, attracting both parishioners and the wider public alike. This year we are preparing for dozens of golfers and an even larger number of people at the dinner following the tournament. Becoming a sponsor is a great way to get the word out that your business supports its local community.

 

St. George’s has had a longstanding tradition of social activism in our community. Through our golf tournament, we have successfully sponsored a Syrian family who came to Canada in 2016 and is now working, learning and thriving on their own. Last year, we were able to help ensure that everyone has a safe, affordable place to live by donating the proceeds of the golf tournament to local housing initiatives such as Habitat for Humanity and 20,000 Homes. This year, we are supporting Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis, along with Wyndham House, in order to provide a safe place for women, children and youth fleeing violence. Whether escaping war, abuse or poverty, we believe that everyone deserves a safe roof over their head. Fore St. George’s helps us put that principle into action. With the generous support of our sponsors, we have contributed over $50,000 in the past 3 years to our local community.
